About Us

Inner-City Home of Sudbury began in April 1986 with the intention of providing shelter and emergency food bank services to those in need. After almost 37 years, our services and outreach area have expanded to be the largest providing emergency and area food bank in Greater Sudbury as well as providing high quality life-skills programs free of charge to the community.

Making an impact.

Our community, is the reason we are able to do the work we do. With no government funding at any level, we rely solely on the generosity of our community. It’s the incredible people and organizations in our community that help us make a difference each and every day.

At Inner-City Home, our goal is to help eliminate the amount of families who face food insecurity, by providing emergency food bank services. We currently service approximately 1200 households a month between our two locations.

We offer courses through our life-skills programming free of charge:

  • Managing Stress
  • Managing Anger
  • Building Self-Esteem
  • Conflict-free Communication
  • Managing Money

We help individuals find resources to assist and support them with challenges they may be facing.

Our Locations

Our Downtown Food Bank is located at 251 Elm Street in Sudbury. It is open daily between 1 PM - 3:45 PM, Monday-Friday.

We have a second Food Bank for New Sudbury residents located at 1169 Dollard Avenue. It is open on Tuesdays from 10 AM – 1 PM.

Please keep the 6 feet distance when waiting for support.

Meet Our Board Members

Joe Drago
“Several years ago, I was asked to participate in a fundraising event for the Inner City Home. A couple of days later I was invited to tour the home. Speaking with several families and children waiting for food I quickly saw the need for help and for volunteer board members. I decided to join the Board to help. It has been very gratifying for me."
Julio Navarro
“I became aware of ICH through my involvement with the Knights of Columbus, and felt that I could contribute with my volunteer expertise in areas they needed.”
Caroline ("Ro") Mullen
"I oversee day to day operations of Foyer Inner-City Home de/of Sudbury. I take care of everything from fundraising at high profile events to taking out the garbage. No job is too big or too small and I love almost every minute of it. The most rewarding part of my job is dealing with clients who have never accessed a food bank before or who have had negative experiences in the past and walk away from their time with us feeling uplifted, valued and heard.”
Food Bank Assistant
Kat helps out with looking after volunteers, maintaining stock and looking after portioning, preparation and packaging of food orders. They also help with Administrative duties when Ro is out of the office. Kat says, “I love the downtown culture and helping people in similar situations to myself and my friends. I also like being able to assist and guide volunteers who want to help the same people I do.”
